Boron's melting point is 2079 degrees celcius. (I recieved mixed results on melting and boiling points)
Its boiling point is 2550 degrees celcius.

Boron transmits portions of infared.
It is a poor conductor of electricity at room temperature but is a good conductor at high temperatures.
Boron is a metalloid.
Boron is black, hard, and brittle.
It has a tetragonal lattice form.
Uses
It is used in Pyrotechnic flares to create a green color and is used as an igniter in rockets.
A compound with boron in it is used to make insulation fiberglass and sodium perborate bleach
Boron is also used to control nucleur reactors, as a shield from nucleur radiation, and in a device used to detect neutrons.
Boron nitride can be used to make material hard like diamonds.

Cryshous crystalline boron, which is 99% boron, costs $5/g. Amorphous boron costs $2/g
Boron does not occur naturally but can be found in some orthoboric acids found in volcanic spring water.
Boron is also found in a few minerals, but is primarily found in rasorite which is found in the Mojave Desert.
Boron has two isotopes. Boron-10 19.78% and boron-11 80.22%
